Jo Wei is a curator and researcher active in the global field of Art, Science and Technology(AST), and her practice includes exhibition curation, research, writing, translation and teaching. Her recent research and interests include BioArt, EcoArt, and the history of AST.

Her curatorial focus is on topics at the intersection of art, technology and society. She has curated exhibitions such as "Quasi-Nature: BioAart, Borderline and Laboratory", "Bamboo as Method ", " Ars Electronica in Shenzhen", the 1st Beijing Media Art Biennale " Ethics of Technology ", the 2nd Beijing Media Art Biennale "Post-Life "The Emergence of Resistance: The Eye of Representation", etc. She has received awards and grants such as the Hyundai Blue Prize for Young Curators in China and the Het Nieuwe Instituut Research Fund in the Netherlands.

She has recently served as an International advisor for internationally renowned AST projects such as STARTS and ISEA, as well as an editorial board member of Annual of Contemporary Art of China and a member of the academic committee of the "The Thinker". She is also an active promoter and has given lectures and workshops at the Taipei University of the Arts, Ars Electronica, the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art(UCCA), the Institute of Neurology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Natural Science History of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Swiss Centre for Science and Technology and Culture, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and major art schools and universities around China. Since 2016, she has been teaching courses on "BioArt", "EcoArt" at the Central Academy of Fine Arts(CAFA).

She has a column on "AST+" in the Thinker, and has planned several cross-border forums/workshops on science and technology and humanities. including "The History of AST Workshop" (CAFA), and "The Editable Future: the Technical, Philosophical, Legal and Artistic Dimensions of Gene Editing (CAFA Art Museum), and "Cybernetics, Art and Digital Culture" (UCCA), the "BioArt Workshop" (Institute of Genetics and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences), etc.
