Chen Qiufan (a.k.a. Stanley Chan) is an award-winning Chinese speculative fiction author, translator, creative producer, and curator. He is honorary president of the Chinese Science Fiction Writers Association, World Economic Forum Culture Leader and a member of the Xprize Foundation Science Fiction Advisory Council.

Chan’s works include the novel Waste Tide (finalist of Locus Best First Novel Award, and The Guardian’s Best SF Book of the Year 2019) and, co-authored with Kai-Fu Lee, the book AI 2041: Ten Visions for Our Future (Best Book of the Year 2021 on Amazon, The Financial Times, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal).

He focuses on the topics such as climate change and environmental issues, the inequality of tech society, culture and biodiversity, and many other subjects. He currently lives in Shanghai/Los Angeles and is the founder of Thema Mundi Studio.
